The mission: to inspire and help uplift others, while working out personal matters along the way.
I am a writer who is trying to become a successful published author. I am a 23-year-old college graduate holding a BA in Writing with a concentration in creative writing.
I have interned for the website TheCelebrityCafe.com and I occasional contribute. I currently hold a position at an Indie Publishing company My Vision Works Publishing as a publishing assistant.
Some of my non-fiction pieces “A Brownie Family” and “Paranoia” have been published by Vinette: The Professional Writing Gallery of GVSU (’09) and Grand Valley Lanthorn: Literary Edition (’10).
My latest work includes my first book Into My Mind , which is a collection of personal essays.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, today, Jana. I think you are off to a really good start. I don’t know the details of your plan, but I suggest you stop by smashwords.com to take a look at ebook publishing options and proceedures (if you haven’t already considered them). I know several people who are releasing both ebook versions and independantly published print editions.
There are lots of discussions now on the direction of traditional publishing, especially since the loss of Borders as an outlet. Nobody has a crystal ball, but it seems almost certain that new publishing methods are going to grow in importance. And if your creative work fits in with and extends your spiritual life, it is bound to be a worthwhile venture.
Your blog is a great place to share the discoveries that you make along the way.
Thanks for the advice! I definitely will look into it.
Somehow you ended up in my spam but I have corrected that and looking forward to reading more!
Thank you!

Thanks so much for following my blog! Looking forward to checking yours out.
Mind if I ask which college you graduated from? I’m not in college just yet, but am planning on taking a path similar to the one you’ve chosen.
Sure, I graduated from Grand Valley State University. It’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They have an excellent writing program. I would suggest that you look into it.
